If you are currently in a situation where your life is at risk, it’s crucial to seek urgent medical assistance. Please consider the following steps:

  1. Call 999 for an ambulance.

  2. If possible, go directly to the Accident & Emergency (A&E) department.

  3. Contact your local crisis team. If you don’t have their number, you can find an urgent mental health helpline on the NHS website.

  4. If you’re unable to take these steps on your own, reach out to someone you trust and ask for their help.

Remember that mental health emergencies are serious, and seeking help promptly is essential. You’re not wasting anyone’s time by reaching out for assistance.

If you find yourself in a situation where calling 999 is not an option, but you still require urgent advice, consider the following steps:

  1. If you reside in England, reach out to NHS 111.

  2. For those living in Wales, contact NHS 111 Wales (select option 2 for urgent mental health support).

  3. If you are in England, you can also get in touch with a local urgent mental health helpline.

  4. Additionally, contact your GP surgery and request an emergency appointment. Many GPs now offer remote appointments.

Remember that seeking help is essential, and you are not alone.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed and need someone to talk to, remember that there are supportive services available. You can reach out to:

  1. Samaritans at 116 123 (available across the UK).

  2. Text SHOUT to 85258 (also available UK-wide).

  3. In Wales, you can call C.A.L.L. at 0800 132 737.

These services are non-judgmental, confidential, and free of charge. They are here to listen and provide support whenever you need it. You’re not alone.
